Kirkby Lonsdale Coach Hire Ltd is a family business that operates bus services and coaches from Lancaster, Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale and the surrounding areas. August 2011 will see us reach 20 years in business.
We can provide quotes and ideas for trips around the UK. We have 24, 29, 35, 51, 53, 57 and 65 seat coaches. We also have 70 seat school coaches available.
Work we undertake currently include school trips and residential weeks, football matches, School sports, shopping trips to Manchester/Liverpool etc, trips to the Lake District.

"We have just spent a week in Lancashire and decided we would take the bus from Knott End to Lancaster. We wanted to say a massive thank you to the driver (ADU) on route 89 where he was faced with rather a lot of water on the roads and took decisive action to turn around and take us another way. Hats off to the driver, thank you."

"Just want to make a comment on behalf of an elderly lady who wanted to travel on the 12.45 Kirkby Lonsdale to Settle bus. She was sheltering from the rain in the market cross. She heard the bus coming and went to walk out to it - but the bus didn’t slow down, look or stop to see if anyone was waiting. Consequently she missed her bus. A sad and frustrating moment for the elderly lady who I think had 2 hours to wait for the next bus. Hopefully she managed to find refuge and keep warm in a local cafe. It would have been so much better if the driver had bothered to slow down and look to see if anyone was waiting to get on. Surprised that this happened because usually Kirkby Lonsdale Coaches provide a really excellent and courteous service."

"I hadn't heard about the buses being on Saturday service and as I was arriving at Lancaster bus station I saw the 15:50 82 bus to Ingleton leaving. I phoned the office to find that the only remaining bus was the 16:45/81 bus that would only get me to Kirby Lonsdale, 7 miles from home. Milling around the bus station, I bumped into Jason, one of the regular drivers I know well and told him the situation. He said not to worry, he would get me home.: he'd drop me off after his last stop at Kirby Lonsdale. He phoned the office to clear it with the manager. and duly did as promised. One of your "experienced drivers who always try to give that little bit extra" Well done Jason, and thank you"

"I travel on this route about three times a week, always a pleasure traveling with this company and driver. Jason was the driver, he's friendly and welcomes every customer and parts with the customer with the same attitude. Customers with dogs he always has dog biscuits on hand. This bus was clean with no litter and was a very enjoyable ride to Lancaster. Always a pleasure to be on this drivers bus"

"Waited at Booths at Kirkby Lonsdale for the 12.15 to Lancaster on Friday 29th December At 12.35 rang the depot was told it was on the way having had a wing mirror replaced Now on the following bus frozen at 1.30 as the 12.15 never turned up"

"580. I have used this service for the past 5 years. All I can say is what an amazing service. The drivers are all great. The bus drivers always try their best to collect their passengers even through floods and if delayed by accidents. Many of their passengers have become friends known by name. It's a pleasure to ride on the 580."

"The driver on the L1 service today from the park and ride at 1335 was rude, aggressive and complained when we asked to be dropped at Atkinson’s stop rather than the bus station. As we alighted he said ‘I didn’t want my break anyway’ such a rude man it’s put us off using the service in future. Usually the drivers are brilliant. Not him."

"Friendly considerate drivers. My son was taken ill on the bus to Lancaster on his way to school and had to get off. The driver made sure he was ok and that someone was coming to collect him before continuing his journey. This is the difference that KLCH and the big bus companies. They go the extra mile and kindness is in abundance."
