"The person who I had contact with was not forthcoming with an invoice after asking multiple times. On the phone was quite abrupt. No clear indication of arrival of vehicle. The driver was friendly and helpful. The vehicle was filthy and very smelly. I wasn't sure it would complete the journey."

"Outbound journey Friday 11am the bus driver was late. I tried to make contact with the driver and the office which was unsuccessful as the calls either rang out or went straight to answer machine. The coach eventually turned up half an hour late, there was no apology from the coach driver and unfortunately no official greeting. We were all very excitable as it was a hen party and we were all ready for a fun and drink fuelled journey to Newcastle, our ideas were soon squashed as the driver abruptly advised there was not food nor drink allowed to be consumed on the coach. We weren’t very happy as we hadn’t been informed of these rules beforehand. Abby Coaches were well aware this trip was for a hen party weekend and alcohol was going to be consumed. The journey started and inevitably some of our hens needed to relive themselves, I spoke to the driver and asked him to kindly stop at the next services so we could jump off for a quick toilet/refreshment break, his reply was “I don’t have time for that, I am given an allotted time to complete the journey and as we have been stuck in traffic I cannot stop”. I was now getting more annoyed, he turns up half an hour late and is now telling me we cannot stop as he doesn’t have time. After we had exchanged a few words he agreed to stop at the next service station so I immediately went back to my seat and informed the girls with full bladders. As we get closer to the service station we gathered are things so it would be a quick turnaround as we were now also stuck for time. The driver then drove past the services and explained that he had forgotten and missed the signs which didn’t fill us with confidence, more with anger. We then discovered the next service station was at least 15 miles away which didn’t go down well with some of our party which was understandable. When we eventually arrived at the service station the driver proceeded to leave the bus as well. So all 15 of us went to the toilet got refreshments and headed back the bus to find the driver still hadn’t returned. When he finally turned up, we asked if we could set off immediately as we were now on a very tight schedule (so was he apparently). He then told us he had another 5 minutes left on his break which was unbeknown to us. Before we set off we advised the drive there was a better route with less traffic and rather than checking for himself he proceeded to ask for directions on more than one occasion. Why wasn’t he using his own sat nav?? Thankfully we arrived at our destination after an awful and extremely annoying journey and to our surprise he asked what time we wanted to be collected on the Sunday, we advised 11am which he confirmed was ok. Return journey Sunday 11am again the bus driver was late. I had no phone call from the company to advise the driver was running late so I rang them myself. I had an extremely rude conversation with a man who asked where I was being picked up from and what time the driver should have been there. He then quickly replied that the driver was 10-15 minuets away (funny that as he didn’t even know where I was being collected from). The second phone call was at 11:25am, 25 minutes after the first phone call where I was advised the driver was no more than 15 minutes away (a total lie obviously) the rude man again asked where I was being picked up from and what did I want to know. He then advised he would be 10-15 minuets away and then the driver had to stop for a break (not my problem he should of set off with enough time to have a break without being late) again I ended the conversation politely as I was concerned we wouldn’t be collected. I now had 15 very upset, tired, hungry and hungover ladies on my hands as we had checked out of our accommodation before 11am so we were ready to get straight onto the coach. Now stood outside the building with all our belongings waiting patiently for the coach to arrive. The third phone call 11:50am now 50 minutes after the first phone call. (now I bet you can guess how this phone call went) Yet again I was told he was 10-15 minuets away which pushed me to my boiling point. I asked the guy on the phone to be realistic with his times as we could have been for breakfast if I had been told on the first phone call that the driver was at least an hour away! I was then asked if I had phone the driver myself, my reply NO as that is your job to speak to your drivers and to advise customers with real information not lies! When I put the phone down I was trying to assess the options as I was now concerned the driver had never set off and had no intention of collecting us. Some members of our party had missed connecting trains and other travel arrangements which has been made for their return home. 12:30pm by this time I was now having to tend to one of our party as she was feeling faint and was ready to pass out (lack of food and stood for a long length of time). The coach arrived and the driver never apologised he just proceeded to argue and try to say that his call sheet said 12pm collection. This is bad organisation from the company which we shouldn’t have to try and explain or show evidence that we had previously arranged an earlier time. He then refused to accept our luggage as again his call sheet said hand luggage only (again another error at the office) after more heated words he opened the boot and told us to load the luggage ourselves. We finally got on the bus and was ready to get home, I advised the driver we were ready to go and all passengers were present to which he replied “oh no I have another 3 minutes left on my break” you will have to wait. We did eventually set off and the journey was rather calm until again we stopped at the service station. Firstly, the drive drove the coach into the CAR park not the COACH park to which the parking attendant was highly annoyed as it caused utter carnage in the car park. The coach driver then proceeds to drive us around the CAR park looking for a space big enough which ultimately, he never found. I had to shout to him that he was in the wrong area hence the aggressive hand gestures from the parking attendant. Another member of our party had to give him directions on how to get into the correct parking area (how or why is he allowed to drive the vehicle if he doesn’t know the basics). Once we had parked up we all started to disembark to which the driver asked if we had all calmed down and got over him being late. Sorry but this is no way to speak to customers who you have already upset and never apologised to the first time. We all piled back onto the bus and yet…. again, the driver couldn’t set off as he still had time left on his break. By this point I was sick to death or arguing and trying to explain that we had every right to be angry. I am appalled at how many breaks these drivers decide to take and feel very upset that the driver had no respect for us as customers. I would NEVER use this company again and would certainly NEVER recommend them to anyone."

"Shocking , I booked a 70 seater coach for 10am I had to phone Abbey Coaches at 10.30 to ask where was my coach , the person called Steve said it had broken down on Friday , he asked me how many was going to Chester ? 70 thats why I booked a 70 seater, he told me he would send a 60 seater and a 16 seater. At a 11am a coach turned up 60 seater it was a M reg filithy and dirty I called Steve and said what is this you have sent me to which he replied do you want me to cancel it then . At 11.30am another vehicle turned up a 16 seater and that was in poor condition but at least it got us there. Coming back the 60 seater did not turn up where it should of we had to walk to anorher location. The drivers where fine and plesent but the attitude of Steve from Abbey coaches was shocking , 70 people who went would not recommend you to anybody in the future, I was going to request a reduction in the cost because I didnt get what I paid for."

"Booked two return journeys with this company. One leg of each journey was fine but the other leg of both was abysmal. Here are some of the issues: Journey 1 – we confirmed an earlier start time with head office the day before departure, and confirmed it separately with the driver. The driver then failed to turn up at the correct time and was approximately 45 minutes late. The coach was not fit to drive as numerous stops had to be made to sort out a tyre and many dashboard lights were flashing. The driver was overheard saying to his colleague “Am I even legal to drive this?” and was promptly silenced. Journey 2 and 3 - no issues Journey 4 - I had booked and paid for a 33-seater coach so to receive frantic texts six hours before the journey saying that they only had a coach for 26 was completely unacceptable. The driver had never been to the area before and drove dangerously on the way home. Incidents included running multiple red lights while doing U-turns in the centre of Glasgow, veering onto the hard shoulder on multiple occasions, attempting to exit a service station car park the wrong way and nearly hitting a van on a dual carriageway by changing lanes without looking. He also answered the phone multiple times while driving (no hands free system, he actually picked it up). The company also appeared to be pressuring him to hurry to the next job while also saying that he needed a break so I'm not sure if he was even allowed to be driving."

"To whom it may concern, I booked one of your luxury buses which was advertised as a 33 seater Mercedes (see photo attached) for the 17th July 2017 to go to Liverpool, I was told it would be £20 per person as there was 30 ladies going and a £100 deposit to drink alcohol on the bus (which totalled £700) which we had to pay upfront with the total cost of the bus and I was told that once the bus had got back to the depot and checked over I would have the £100 drinking deposit transferred straight to my bank, this all sounded really good and I sent the photo of the bus to all the ladies so they all knew the high standard of bus we was going to get and I booked the bus as I was told that if I left it another week the price would go up, I rang the office for abbey coaches several times over the coming weeks to confirm times and stops on the way etc the staff were really friendly and the day before I spoke to someone to confirm times again, on the morning of the hen party (20 to 12) I got a phone call saying the driver was running late and would get to us around half past one so all the ladies were ready as the call was too late so we went and waited outside the pick up point, it's got to 1:50 and the bus still wasn't with us so I rang and was told it would be 10 mins, at 2:30 (on the hottest day of the year!!) it finally arrived!! I say IT as it was nothing like what we were supposed to have, I can only describe it as a shed on wheels! We got in the bus as we had no other option as we had waited an hour and half for it! We set off and I spoke to Steve glover as by this point I was extremely upset and disappointed, he said let's get you girls on the road and I will sort some kind of compensation out for you! The bus had no air ventilation no widows that opened apart from 3 sun roof (only 2 opened at the front of the bus) it was extremely hot on the bus and unbearable, it was going so slow on the motorway lorries were over taking us, (approx 40-45 miles per hour) I spoke to the driver and he said he only had an hours driving time left and looked exhausted! A few txts to steve glover went back and forth from me and he told me to tell his driver to pull off into the services, we did and the driver had a break and a man came out to look at the shed on wheels! The driver spoke to someone and we was told that we could wait 20 mins for the bus we was promised or get on the road as it was 50 mins away, after the experience we had, had already we didn't know it it was going to be 20 mins so we just got back on the shed! Anyway 3 hours and 15 mins later we arrived at Liverpool, tired, exhausted and upset! (Not the experience we wanted!) 18th July (pick up day) we all waited in the heat again outside our hotel at 12 like we discussed and low and behold no bus! So I rang the office and spoke to someone called Az he said he was ringing the driver but he wasn't answering and he would ring me back wen he found out what was going on, he did 15 mins later and he said that the driver was stuck on the m62 and would be around 15/20 mins! At 1'oclock the bus arrived (not the one we had been promised it was a big coach but it was 100 times better than the previous day so it wasn't too bad although an hour late!) anyway the driver got off the bus and looked at us and said "what's up" I said "you are and hour late"! He said "I'm not I was told 1pm", I said "ring Az In the office because one of you are lying to us", he showed me his phone he had no missed calls at all! We got on the bus n thought lovely this bus as air vents or air con! Turned out no air con it was broken, no windows not even sun roofs as they were broken, there was a thermometer on the bus and it was 30degrees on that bus we were so hot! The bus driver pulled over and my friend nearly passed out she had to lay on the floor! One of my friends was sick as she got off through the heat!"
